I think we will best honor Pope Francis’ legacy if we continue to imitate Jesus in bringing healing and hope to them, and using our voices to defend their dignity."

Jubilee 2025 - Pilgrims of Hope
-
On Christmas Eve, Pope Francis opened the Holy Door at St. Peter's Basilica to open the Year of Jubilee. This is a special time for the Church throughout the world, as we seek deeper conversion and spiritual growth through repentance, reconciliation, and mercy.
Bishop Checchio has designated four pilgrimage sites in the Diocese of Metuchen, where the faithful may obtain the Jubilee Indulgence from now until December 8, 2025:
St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen
Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, Raritan
Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Washington Twp.
National Shrine of St. Lucy Filippini, New Brunswick
The following conditions apply for the reception of the Jubilee Indulgence:- Reception of Holy Communion
- Prayer for the Intentions of the Holy Father
- Sincere intention to detach from all sin, even venial sin, and, if necessary, sacramental Confession
- Participating in liturgical celebrations, or other designated religious activities connected to the Jubilee

Bishop's Annual Appeal 2025
This year's Bishop's Annual Appeal is underway, with the theme Pilgrims of Hope: Journeying Together in Faith, Hope, and Charity. Together we can make a difference for our neighbors in need, provide spiritual care for the sick and imprisoned, inspire college students with the Gospel, train future priests, and much more! As of April 17, we have received 118 gifts and pledges, totaling $31,468.45, which is 62.9% of our parish goal of $50,000. Thanks to all who have already generously supported this year's appeal. Every household is encouraged to participate, and every gift is appreciated.
